We are fully accredited by TrustMark, the government-endorsed quality scheme, ensuring high standards and consumer protection.
Having the TrustMark badge gives householders the confidence that we will provide the highest quality green home improvements to their homes as only approved and accredited installers will be able to install work under the scheme.
The Green Homes Grant Scheme aims to improve over 600,000 homes in England with a voucher worth up to £10,000 owner occupiers on low income or in receipt of income-based or disability benefits, will get up to 100% of the work paid for, up to a maximum government contribution of £10,000. Homeowners not in receipt of benefits may need to pay towards two-thirds of the cost of installation.
Orbital Energy can install one or more of the following:
- Solid Wall / Internal Wall Insulation
- Underfloor Insulation
- Cavity Wall Insulation
- Roof / Room In Roof Insulation
The offer is open to homeowners including owner occupiers and social/private landlords, fuel poor households, including those living in rented accommodation and the extra work will go to support 100,000 jobs in the green construction and energy efficiency industry.
Business and Energy Secretary Alok Sharma said:
“Green home improvements will save people money on their energy bills, help to cut carbon emissions, and create new work for many thousands of builders, plumbers and other tradespeople…Our TrustMark scheme will guarantee that building work is completed to a high standard by accredited tradespeople, ensuring consumers are fully protected.”
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak said:
“The Green Homes Grant is a vital part of our plan for jobs as we secure the UK’s economic recovery from coronavirus. This is going to be a green recovery with concern for our environment at its heart…It will help to protect and create jobs, while also saving people money and cutting carbon.”
How to Apply?
The Simple Energy Advice (SEA) service will soon launch access to the voucher application process via their website. SEA will suggest appropriate home improvements that homeowners may be able to apply for support in funding.
Householders will select TrustMark registered tradespeople, such as Orbital Energy, that operate in their local area to carry out the work. Once the work is agreed, vouchers will be issued and work can commence. The voucher can cover up to two-thirds of the cost with the household to pay the rest.
For example, if a homeowner of a semi-detached or end-terrace installed cavity wall and floor insulation, costing around £4,000, the homeowner would pay just £1,320 – with the government paying £2,680. Doing so could save the owner over £200 annually on their bills and reduce their carbon footprint by cutting 700 kg of CO2 a year from their home alone.
Further details on how to apply for a voucher will be announced by the government ahead of the scheme’s full launch in the Autumn.
